Amanda Seyfried Pushes for 'Mamma Mia 3,' Picturing Sophie as a Mom

A completed script is in place with the project still in development, producer Judy Craymer says.

Overview

  • Speaking to PEOPLE at a Dec. 14 Los Angeles premiere, Seyfried vowed to keep campaigning for a third film "until I'm blue in the face."
  • She said she envisions Sophie raising children on the Greek island, an arc she called compelling as a real-life mother of two.
  • Seyfried added that she expects plenty of singing and dancing, while noting she does not know where the story would go.
  • Craymer has said the threequel has a finished script and remains in development after 2018's Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
  • The producer has also discussed pop star Sabrina Carpenter as a potential addition to the ensemble, with casting yet to be confirmed.
