Amalner(B)–Beed Rail Section Inaugurated, Regular BeedAhilyanagar Service Starts Thursday

The corridor advances under a 50:50 state–railways partnership after Maharashtra released an additional Rs 150 crore.

Overview

  • The line was opened on September 17, Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din, at Beed station in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, Dy CM Ajit Pawar and other dignitaries.
  • The 67.78 km link forms part of the 261.25 km AhilyanagarBeedParli Vaijnath project developed jointly by Indian Railways and the Maharashtra government.
  • The section adds five stations—Beed, Rajuri/Navgan, Raimoha, Vighanwadi and Jatnandur—and includes 15 major bridges, 90 minor bridges, 15 road overbridges and 31 road underbridges.
  • Indian Railways announced a Monday–Saturday DEMU between Beed and Ahilyanagar beginning September 18.
  • Fadnavis cited Rs 21,000 crore in central allocations to Marathwada rail projects over the past decade and said electrification of the BeedAhilyanagar stretch is targeted in 3–4 months, while Pawar indicated future extensions toward Pune and Mumbai.
