Alyssa Naeher Wins 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year
The veteran goalkeeper capped her international career with an Olympic gold medal, record-breaking achievements, and recognition as one of the sport's best.
- Alyssa Naeher was named the 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, earning 40.8% of the vote, ahead of last year's winner Naomi Girma.
- She became only the second goalkeeper to win the award in its 40-year history, following Hope Solo in 2009.
- Naeher played every minute of the U.S. women's national team's Olympic gold-winning campaign, allowing just two goals and securing a clean sheet in the final against Brazil.
- Her 2024 accolades also included being named FIFA's Best Women's Goalkeeper of the Year and earning a spot on FIFA's Women's Best XI.
- The 36-year-old retired from international soccer in late 2024 after 115 caps but will continue her club career with the NWSL's Chicago Stars in 2025.
