  • Leah Washington-Pugh lost her left leg above the knee and Joe Pugh suffered shattered kneecaps and damaged fingers when their Smiler carriage collided at speed on June 2, 2015.
  • A complex rescue operation flew in blood supplies via air ambulance and led to Leah spending five days in intensive care and eight weeks in hospital.
  • Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd admitted breaches of health and safety regulations, was fined £5 million and paid compensation to all 16 victims.
  • Now married and settled in a new home, the couple credit their mutual support and resilience for sustaining their decade-long recovery.
  • To mark the milestone, they are hosting a charity ball to benefit Midlands Air Ambulance, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the LimbBo Foundation.
