  • The affected product was sold at Norma nationwide, Metro in Saxony-Anhalt, Edeka in Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg, Nah&Gut Milow, and REWE in Berlin and Brandenburg.
  • Consumers are told not to eat the sausage and to return it for a full refund without a receipt or dispose of it immediately.
  • Health authorities note STEC can cause severe diarrhoeal illness and can lead to hemolytic-uremic syndrome in 5–10% of cases, especially in young children, older adults and immunocompromised people.
