Alsea Opens 800-Million-Peso Operations Hub in Jalisco as Q3 Profit Surges

The new Tonalá center marks a push for supply‑chain efficiency, with investment plans refocused on higher‑value brands after a stronger quarter.

Overview

  • The Guadalajara‑area facility adds 85 distribution routes to supply roughly 339 stores across 10 states for brands including Domino’s, Starbucks, Burger King, Chili’s, Italianni’s, P.F. Chang’s, Vips and The Cheesecake Factory.
  • Built on more than 27,700 square meters with 12,000 square meters of construction, the site can handle over 3,000 SKUs and 8,981 storage positions across dry, refrigerated and frozen areas, making it Alsea’s second‑largest operations center.
  • The center will create about 180 direct jobs, draw on regional suppliers in Tonalá and launched with a 10‑tonne grain donation to Jalisco’s food banks.
  • For 3Q25, Alsea reported sales of 21,029 million pesos, up 5.7% year over year, net income of 512 million pesos for a 559% increase and EBITDA of 2,881 million pesos, up 1.8%, according to its BMV filing.
  • Guidance includes about 270 million pesos to open 15 new units in Jalisco during 2025–2026 with more than 400 jobs, roughly 5,500 million pesos of 2026 capex and ongoing reviews to sell non‑core assets to concentrate on higher‑value businesses.
