Overview

  • About 8,000 Wave terminals were installed in the first half of 2025, with roughly 4,000 more due by the end of August and thousands per week scheduled from September to reach 30,000-plus units nationwide.
  • The new Wave machines add a high‑speed processor, a larger tilt‑adjustable LCD screen, wireless 1D and 2D scanners, a dual‑orientation playslip reader, enhanced reporting, and the ability to update Fast Pay card numbers.
  • Allwyn completed a major early‑August software and data migration that temporarily took online and retail services offline from 2–4 August before restoring operations.
  • A small proportion of legacy Altura terminals encountered software download delays after the upgrade, and Allwyn says teams are visiting stores to troubleshoot remaining issues.
  • Broader changes include direct bank transfers for retail prize payments replacing cheques, online prize claim uploads with ticket photos, Aldi self‑checkout availability, home delivery options, and more than 200 new instant games across 43,500 outlets.
