Overview

  • After fitting 8,000 units in the first half of the year, Allwyn says nearly 4,000 more will be installed by the end of August, with thousands per week scheduled from September.
  • Wave terminals add a high‑speed processor, a larger tilt‑adjustable LCD, wireless 1D/2D scanners, and a playslip reader that accepts tickets horizontally or vertically.
  • Retailers report faster, more responsive transactions, clearer reporting, visible transaction history and the ability to update numbers on Fast Pay cards.
  • Systems were taken offline 2–4 August for software and data migrations, and a small share of legacy Altura terminals required troubleshooting before returning to service.
  • Allwyn says the transformation supports plans for new games and a pledge to double weekly returns to Good Causes from £30m to £60m by the end of its 10‑year licence.
