Allred Outpaces Cruz in Fundraising for Texas Senate Race

Despite raising less in Q4, Allred leads with $10 million cash on hand, double the number of individual donors than Cruz.

Democratic Rep. Colin Allred has raised $4.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2023, bringing his total cash on hand to $10 million for his Senate campaign against incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz.
Cruz raised $5.5 million in the same period, but has only $7.3 million cash on hand.
Allred's campaign received funds from more than 200,000 individual donors with an average donation of $31.62, more than double the 78,000 donors the Cruz campaign attracted.
Cruz narrowly won reelection in 2018 against former Rep. Beto O’Rourke by about 2.6 percent.
Both Allred and Cruz face March 5 primary contests that they are expected to win.
