Allen’s iNSiDE OUTS 130g Recalled Nationwide Over Plastic Contamination

FSANZ has ordered the recall after plastic was traced to an equipment failure at a contract manufacturer.

Overview

  • The recall covers Allen’s iNSiDE OUTS 130g packs with best-before 30/JUN/2027 and batch numbers 6072T941, 6073T941, 6074T941, 6075T941, 6085T941, 6086T941 and 6088T941.
  • Retailers including Coles, Woolworths, IGA, convenience stores and petrol stations have been told to remove affected stock and offer full refunds to customers who return the packs.
  • Nestlé says a contract manufacturer's equipment failure dislodged small pieces of plastic during production and that the number of potentially affected packs appears to be small.
  • FSANZ warned that eating food containing plastic can cause illness or injury and advised anyone concerned about their health to seek medical advice.
  • The recall highlights how reliance on third-party manufacturers can create supply-chain vulnerabilities and may lead to tightened checks or changes in oversight during the ongoing investigation.
