Allegheny County Opens Satellite Election Office and Publishes Early‑Voting Schedule

County staff will process applications through the state's SURE system and print ballots on site to speed mail‑in returns before key October deadlines.

Overview

  • Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall opened as the county's first satellite election office on Wednesday, Oct. 7, offering in‑person application processing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Satellite sites act as a one‑stop shop where staff use the statewide SURE system to verify applications, print ballots, provide privacy booths and collect completed ballots in secrecy envelopes via on‑site drop boxes.
  • Four additional satellite offices will operate Oct. 17, Oct. 18, Oct. 24 and Oct. 25 at CCAC Homewood, North Park Ice Rink, South Park Ice Rink and the County Office Building.
  • Separate ballot‑only return locations will open from Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 at sites across the county including libraries, park facilities and the County Office Building to accept completed mail‑in and absentee ballots.
  • Voters must register by Oct. 19, apply for a mail‑in ballot by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27 and ensure completed ballots are received by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3; officials urge early action because of expected high demand and limited satellite hours.
