• NOPD confirmed that Raymond Wells, 21, died Sunday after being found unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the stolen car minutes after the Sept. 30 attack.
• Wells was suspected of fatally shooting Carl Morgan, 36, during a carjacking as Morgan arrived to pick up his son at the Abeona House Child Discovery Center on Canal Street.
• Officers used automatic license plate readers to track Morgan’s vehicle to I-10 in Metairie, where Wells was located and taken to a hospital.
