Overview
- An unauthorised rave on a track by Yateholme and Ramsden reservoirs began around 1–2am and continued into the morning, with music reported stopping near 9:45am.
- More than 100 people attended, with heavy bass heard across villages including Honley, Upperthong, Meltham and New Mill, leaving some children in tears.
- West Yorkshire Police officers observed and liaised at the site, the music was turned down in the morning, and one officer was quoted hoping for a rainstorm.
- Attendees travelled from cities such as Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle and Skegness, some said they tidied litter, and there were no toilet facilities.
- Colne Valley MP Paul Davies called the disruption unacceptable and said he will speak to West Yorkshire Police about measures to stop similar events.
