Overview

• David Jeffcock, 80, and Susan Jeffcock, 74, died on July 30 after falling near Whitby Abbey, with a caller reporting a man and woman on the rocks below and paramedics pronouncing them dead at the scene.
• Joan Blanchon, 69, was found dead near the Pavilion on July 31, and Susan Fawcett, 58, was discovered at Sandsend on August 2.
• North Yorkshire Police say there is no connection between the four fatalities, and each case is being investigated on its own.
• Inquests have been opened into all four deaths, and the Jeffcocks’ hearing is scheduled at Northallerton Coroner’s Court on September 22.
