All-Electric Tesla Model Y Now Best-Selling Car Worldwide

Tesla's Model Y electric vehicle became the world's best-selling car in Q1 2023, the first time an all-electric vehicle achieved the top spot.
The Model Y sold 267,200 units globally from January to March, a 69% increase from the year before.
The Model Y surpassed Toyota's Corolla and RAV4 to take the number one position.
Tesla's success comes as other automakers have been slow to develop competitive electric vehicles and Tesla has cut prices.
While Tesla ranks only 19th in overall global vehicle sales, the Model Y was third for all of 2022, first in Europe and California, and fourth in China.
