'Alien' TV Series to Disregard Recent Prequels' Backstory

The upcoming 'Alien' TV series will not incorporate the backstory from the recent prequel films 'Prometheus' and 'Alien: Covenant', according to showrunner Noah Hawley.
Hawley prefers the concept of the xenomorph as a product of millions of years of evolution, rather than a recently created bioweapon as depicted in the prequels.
The series will also return to the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the original films, rejecting the advanced technology depicted in the prequels.
The 'Alien' series is set on Earth and roughly 70 years in the future, predating the original film series.
Production of the series, which was halted due to Hollywood strikes in 2023, is expected to resume soon in Thailand.
