Ali Abbasi Signs with UTA Following Acclaimed Film 'The Apprentice'

Ali Abbasi, director of the Oscar-nominated film 'The Apprentice,' has signed with UTA for representation in the US.
'The Apprentice,' which chronicles Donald Trump's rise in the 1980s, received critical acclaim, earning multiple award nominations including Oscars and Golden Globes.
Abbasi parted ways with CAA last month after apologizing for making an inappropriate gesture at a Golden Globes afterparty, which he said was misinterpreted.
The filmmaker is also recognized for his previous Cannes-lauded works, 'Holy Spider' and 'Border,' and for directing episodes of HBO's 'The Last of Us.'
Abbasi will continue to be represented by LARK in the UK as he builds on his established career in film and television.
