Alexandre Muller Wins First ATP Title at Hong Kong Open

The Frenchman defeated Kei Nishikori in a three-set comeback, becoming the third player in ATP history to win a title after losing the first set in every match.

  • Muller, 27, made history as only the third player to win a tournament after losing the first set in all matches he played during the event.
  • Nishikori, a wildcard entrant and former world No. 4, reached his first ATP final since 2019 after overcoming years of injuries, including hip surgery.
  • The victory boosts Muller to a career-high ATP ranking of 56, while Nishikori will re-enter the Top 100 for the first time since June 2022 at No. 74.
