Alexandre Muller Wins First ATP Title at Hong Kong Open

The Frenchman defeated Kei Nishikori in a three-set comeback, becoming the third player in ATP history to win a title after losing the first set in every match.

Alexandre Muller, ranked 67th, claimed his first ATP Tour title by defeating Kei Nishikori 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the Hong Kong Open final.
Muller, 27, made history as only the third player to win a tournament after losing the first set in all matches he played during the event.
Nishikori, a wildcard entrant and former world No. 4, reached his first ATP final since 2019 after overcoming years of injuries, including hip surgery.
The victory boosts Muller to a career-high ATP ranking of 56, while Nishikori will re-enter the Top 100 for the first time since June 2022 at No. 74.
Muller praised Nishikori for his resilience and expressed gratitude for his own breakthrough performance ahead of the Australian Open.
