The couple celebrated their engagement with a formal event in Italy after the proposal in May.
Alex Soros, 38, and Huma Abedin, 47, met at a mutual friend’s birthday party last fall.
Soros is the chairman of the Open Society Foundations, while Abedin has a long history in Democratic politics.
This will be Abedin's second marriage; she was previously married to former Congressman Anthony Weiner.
The couple has made several public appearances, including at the Met Gala and a White House state dinner.
