Alex Smith and Randy Moss Announced as First Inductees into College Football Hall of Fame 2024 Class

Both players had standout college careers at Utah and Marshall respectively, and went on to have successful careers in the NFL.

  • Former Utah quarterback Alex Smith and former Marshall wide receiver Randy Moss have been announced as the first two inductees into the College Football Hall of Fame for the 2024 class.
  • Moss, who played for Marshall from 1996 to 1997, set school records and led the Thundering Herd to the NCAA Division I-AA national title in his first season.
  • Smith, who played for Utah from 2002 to 2004, set multiple records including Utah’s school record for single-season touchdown passes (32), which he still holds.
  • Both Moss and Smith had successful NFL careers, with Moss being a six-time Pro Bowler and Smith receiving the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.
  • The full 2024 class, which will include 19 First Team All-America players and three coaches, will be inducted during the National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
