Overview

• Guildford Crown Court imposed life sentences with minimum terms of 34 years for Rose and 29 years for Pardoe after majority jury verdicts.
• Rose also received 21 months concurrently for perverting the course of justice, and girlfriend Tara Knaggs was jailed for three years for assisting an offender.
• A deprivation order was granted for more than £4,000 cash seized when Rose and Knaggs were stopped at Birmingham Airport with a one-way ticket to Istanbul.
• The victims, William Birchard, 21, and Darren George, 22, were pursued at over 60mph before Rose drove the wrong way down the M3/A316 slip road and struck their e-bike; Birchard died at the scene and George died later in hospital.
• Evidence cited by prosecutors included CCTV, phone records and a doorbell audio clip, and police said the pair mounted a vigilante hunt that targeted men who had not been near Rose’s property.
