Overview

• Rose, 30, and Pardoe, 25, were found guilty of two counts of murder by a majority verdict at Guildford Crown Court; Tara Knaggs, 25, was unanimously convicted of assisting an offender and Samuel Aspden, 25, was acquitted.
• Jurors heard Rose pursued the pair at over 60 mph, drove the wrong way down the M3/A316 slip road at Sunbury Cross, and deliberately struck their e‑bike.
• Victims William Birchard, 21, and Darren George, 22, were not involved in any burglary and were described by the CPS as being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
• After the collision, Rose made a three‑point turn and left the scene; a lorry driver later found the victims, and both suffered catastrophic head injuries.
• Police said Rose abandoned his truck, falsely reported it stolen, and was arrested at Birmingham Airport with Knaggs on one‑way tickets to Istanbul carrying more than £4,000 in cash; sentencing is due later this month.
