Alef Aeronautics Secures Record 2,850 Pre-Orders for $300k Flying Car

Alef Aeronautics, backed by prominent SpaceX investor Tim Draper, has received 2,850 pre-orders for its Model A flying car, each priced at $300,000.
The Model A, a two-seater electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, is touted as the best-selling aircraft in history, outperforming giants like Boeing and Airbus.
With a cruising speed of 110 miles per hour in the air and up to 35 miles per hour on the ground, the Model A aims to revolutionize urban mobility.
Alef plans to start production by the end of 2025, with the FAA already granting a special airworthiness certificate for limited purposes.
The company is also developing a four-person sedan, the Model Z, targeting a 2035 launch at a more accessible price point of $35,000.
