Alec Baldwin Indicted Again for Involuntary Manslaughter in 'Rust' Shooting
New evidence and allegations against film's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, also come to light.
- Alec Baldwin has been indicted with a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of 'Rust' in 2021.
- This is the second time a grand jury has indicted Baldwin for Hutchins' death. Baldwin was originally charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter on Jan. 31, and the charges were later dropped in April.
- New evidence, including a video from the 'Rust' set showing Baldwin directing crew members to move out of the path of the gun, may have influenced the decision to refile charges.
- Prosecutors also claim that Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film's armorer, was likely hungover when she inserted a live bullet into the prop gun that went off, killing Hutchins.
- Gutierrez-Reed has also been charged with involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
