Overview

• Aldi Süd initiated the recall on June 16 after a customer discovered a large glass fragment in a jar of its Sweet Valley sour cherries.
• The recall covers Sweet Valley Sauerkirschen entsteint, leicht gezuckert in 720ml jars labeled with batch number ISBJ E16777-A03-2417812 and a December 31, 2027 best-before date.
• Affected jars were sold between March 4 and April 30, 2025 in Bavaria, Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia.
• Consuming the contaminated cherries poses a risk of cuts in the mouth or throat and potential choking or internal bleeding from glass splinters.
• Customers are urged to return the jars to any Aldi Süd store for a full refund and to seek medical care if they experience related symptoms.
