Albertsons Recalls Store-Made Deli Pasta Salads Over Possible Listeria Risk

The action follows a supplier alert tying a bowtie pasta ingredient to contamination at Nate’s Fine Foods.

  • Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Reser’s Fine Foods, initiated the recall after identifying the implicated bowtie pasta ingredient.
  • Five prepared-deli items were pulled, including Basil Pesto Bowtie Pasta Salad, Grilled Chicken and Basil Pasta, Ready Meals Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad, and a Randalls-labeled version, with September sell-thru or Best By dates.
  • The products were sold across multiple banners and states, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Pavilions, Albertsons Market, Market Street, Carrs-Safeway, Pak ‘N Save, Amigos, Eagle, and Andronico’s Community Markets.
  • In Colorado, two items were affected—Ready Meals Pesto Bowtie Pasta Salad (UPC 27133000000) and Basil Pesto Bowtie Pasta Salad (UPC 29492100000)—with Best By dates of Sept. 13–29, according to spokesperson Heather Halpape.
  • No illnesses have been reported; customers are advised not to eat the items, to discard or return them for a refund, to sanitize surfaces per FDA guidance, and to contact 1-877-723-3929 with questions.
