Alberta RCMP Officer Charged with Sexual Assault in 2022 Hotel Incident

Const. Bridget Morla faces two counts of sexual assault following a two-year investigation by Alberta's police watchdog.

Const. Bridget Morla, a 13-year veteran of the Leduc RCMP, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault involving two male victims.
The alleged assaults occurred in an Airdrie hotel room on December 3, 2022, during a social gathering while Morla was off-duty.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) conducted a two-year investigation into the allegations, which led to charges being announced on December 2, 2024.
Morla has been suspended with pay since December 2022, when the investigation began, and has been released from custody pending her court appearance next week.
ASIRT forwarded its findings to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, which determined the case met the standard for prosecution.
