Overview

  • The Piastri Grandstand will sit on the main straight opposite the pit lane, joining the existing Fangio Grandstand and offering premium sightlines to the start line and McLaren garage.
  • Oscar Piastri, who leads the 2025 drivers’ standings with six wins and 284 points, described the honour as “surreal” and said he looks forward to absorbing the fan energy next March.
  • AGPC CEO Travis Auld said the tribute reflects Piastri’s rapid rise through karting, F3, F2 and now an eight-time grand prix winner in F1.
  • The naming continues Albert Park’s tradition of recognizing Australian motorsport greats, including Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo.
  • The 2026 Australian Grand Prix will kick off the Formula 1 season from March 5–8 and public tickets will go on sale September 10.
