Overview
- The Australian Grand Prix Corporation announced on August 18 that a grandstand named for Oscar Piastri will be built on the main straight at Albert Park.
- Set to debut at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix season opener (March 5–8), the two-tier Piastri Grandstand will adjoin the Fangio structure and offer premium seats facing the start line and McLaren garage.
- Public ticket sales for the new stand open September 10, giving fans early access to the circuit’s most sought-after race-day viewing.
- Piastri, the 2025 championship leader with six wins to date, described the honour as “very surreal” and said he looks forward to sharing the home-race atmosphere with fans.
- AGPC chief Travis Auld hailed the honour as fitting recognition of Piastri’s swift ascent, placing him alongside Sir Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo as Albert Park grandstand namesakes.
