Overview
- Lorenz Kraus, 53, contacted WRGB/CBS6 and, in an on-camera interview, described suffocating his parents in 2017 before he was arrested outside the station.
- Investigators executing a search warrant at the Crestwood Court home for alleged benefits misuse recovered two sets of human remains during a backyard dig on Sept. 24–25.
- Kraus is charged with two counts each of second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse, with court filings alleging strangulation sometime between Jan. 7 and Sept. 30, 2017.
- A public defender entered a not guilty plea at Friday’s arraignment, and a judge ordered Kraus held without bail pending further proceedings.
- Police say they are confident the remains are those of Franz and Theresia Kraus, though forensic identification and cause-of-death determinations are still pending as defense counsel flags concerns about the TV admission’s admissibility.
