Alaska bush pilot featured on 'Flying Wild Alaska' killed in plane crash

Bush pilot Jim Tweto and hunting guide Shane Reynolds died in a small plane crash in western Alaska shortly after takeoff near the village of Shaktoolik.
Tweto was known for appearing on the Discovery Channel show "Flying Wild Alaska" and ran a rural aviation company based in Unalakleet, Alaska.
Tweto's plane crashed after witnesses reported it did not seem to be climbing following takeoff.
The bodies of Tweto and Reynolds were recovered by Alaska State Troopers responding from Nome.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the fatal crash.
