Overview

  • Installations are slated to begin as early as December 2025 with service entering use in 2026 and full coverage targeted by early 2027 across regional, narrowbody and widebody aircraft.
  • Access will be complimentary for those enrolled in the free-to-join loyalty program, with connectivity designed for streaming, gaming, real-time messaging and multi‑device use from gate to gate.
  • The program covers 737s, 787s and E175s, while Boeing 717s used on inter‑island routes are not expected to receive the upgrade.
  • T‑Mobile is partnering on the offering and says its customers will receive added perks such as streamlined, ad‑free sign‑on, with more benefits to be detailed later this year.
  • The rollout replaces Alaska’s current Intelsat/2Ku service on mainline jets; financial terms of the Starlink agreement and detailed certification schedules were not disclosed, and the announcement coincides with a new earn-structure and premium Bank of America credit card under the unified loyalty scheme.
