Alarming Rise in Feminicides and Attempts in France

A new report reveals that over three women are victims of feminicide or attempted feminicide daily in France.

According to the mission interministérielle pour la protection des femmes (Miprof), 93 women were killed by their partners in 2023.
The report also documented 319 attempted feminicides and 773 cases of harassment leading to suicide or attempted suicide.
This is the first time 'suicide forced' cases are included in the report, a demand made by feminist associations.
The number of reported sexist and sexual offenses rose by 19% in 2023, totaling 3,405 infractions.
230,000 adult women reported being victims of sexual violence, with 60% aged between 18 and 24.
