Alan Pardew Handed Six-Month Driving Ban After Hitting 12-Point Limit

Magistrates rejected his claim that a ban would cause exceptional hardship due to caring for his 93-year-old mother.

Overview

  • Pardew pleaded guilty at Bexley Magistrates’ Court to driving 26mph in a 20mph zone on the A205 in Clapham on February 21.
  • The latest offence took his licence to 12 penalty points, following speeding convictions in March and May 2022 and May 2023.
  • Magistrate Sonia Case imposed a six-month disqualification and ordered Pardew to pay £1,034 in fines and costs.
  • His representative, Anne-Marie Critchley, argued he is vital transport for his mother, but the bench ruled the hardship was not exceptional.
  • Pardew, 64, apologized after the hearing and urged drivers not to lose concentration in 20mph areas.
