Overview
- The Special Recognition Award was revealed at London's O2 on Tuesday, September 8, in a staged musical tribute led by Amanda Holden and Paloma Faith with other Celebrity Traitors cast members.
- Carr only realised the tribute was for him when Paloma Faith appeared from a black coffin, a gag referencing her Celebrity Traitors exit, and he became visibly emotional during the moment.
- A theatrical shove by Paloma toward fellow performers provoked strong viewer reaction and helped the performance go viral for its camp staging.
- Organisers say the Special Recognition category is not decided by a public vote, making the honour an institutional recognition rather than a fan poll result.
- After the ceremony Carr said a revival of his Chatty Man chat show is unlikely for now and he confirmed an upcoming Disney+ series, I Bought a Castle, filmed around Ayton Castle in the Scottish Borders.
