Alameda Police Bust Home Gambling Den, Seize Slot Machines and Guns

Prosecutors are reviewing the case after tips led officers to a West End home that yielded slot machines, firearms, cash, drug paraphernalia.

  • Police recovered nearly 10 slot machines along with gaming tables, poker chips, a roulette table, ammunition, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
  • Firearms were found at the scene, including what police described as an assault rifle, and the gambling equipment was removed from the home.
  • Individuals at the location were issued citations, and the case remains open with charging decisions now with the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
  • Chief Nishant Joshi said the operation appears to have been running no more than a couple of months and credited community tips for advancing the investigation.
