Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy Shot Serving Eviction, Suspect At Large

This is the second violent incident involving eviction notices in the East Bay this week, following a similar occurrence in Oakland.

An Alameda County sheriff's deputy was shot while serving an eviction notice in Union City, with the suspect remaining at large.
The deputy's injuries were critical but not life-threatening, and he was taken to a trauma center.
The incident occurred in the 33000 block of Dowe Avenue, off of Alvarado-Niles Boulevard, which is mostly industrial.
This follows a similar incident in Oakland the previous day, where deputies serving an eviction heard a noise they believed to be a gunshot.
Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies were present at the scene of the shooting in Union City.
