Alabama’s Million Dollar Band Selected for 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026

Macy’s selected the 400-member ensemble from a highly competitive field, awarding a $10,000 grant to support its trip.

Overview

  • The University of Alabama announced the invitation at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Oct. 7, confirming the band as one of 10 ensembles picked from more than 100 applicants.
  • The centennial parade is set for Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, in New York City and will air live on NBC and Peacock from 8:30 a.m. to noon ET.
  • It will be the band’s second Macy’s appearance after a COVID delay shifted its original 2020 selection to a 2021 performance.
  • Director of Bands Dr. Ken Ozzello leads the group and described the selection process as highly competitive, with Macy’s choosing only premier programs.
  • Each chosen band receives a $10,000 Macy’s grant to help fund travel and preparations, as parade associate producer Sara Flores praised the group’s energy in a statement.
