Alabama names Jalen Milroe starting quarterback for season opener against Middle Tennessee

Jalen Milroe will start at quarterback for Alabama in their first game against Middle Tennessee State.
Milroe was chosen over several other quarterbacks including Ty Simpson, Tyler Buchner, Eli Holstein and Dylan Lonergan.
Milroe has appeared in 12 games for Alabama, passing for 338 yards with 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Head coach Nick Saban has said the starting quarterback position is not guaranteed week to week.
The goal is to give multiple quarterbacks playing time this season.
