Alabama Mom Delivers 13-Pound Baby, Stuns Hospital Staff

Pamela Mann gave birth to her first child, Paris Halo, who weighed nearly double the size of an average newborn.

Pamela Mann, 31, delivered her daughter, Paris Halo, via a scheduled C-section on March 4 at Alabama’s Grand View Medical Center.
Paris Halo weighed 13 pounds, 4 ounces at birth, significantly larger than the average newborn weight of 6 to 9 pounds.
The baby’s size surprised both medical staff and Mann, who had been told during prenatal checkups that her baby might weigh around 10 pounds.
Paris Halo is currently in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for monitoring but is expected to be discharged soon and is reportedly doing well.
The newborn has gained local fame, with hospital nurses making special visits to see her and family members giving her nicknames like 'Pork Chop' and 'Big Mama.'
