Alabama Inmate Sentenced to Life for Escape Aided by Corrections Officer

Casey White pleaded guilty to escaping from an Alabama jail with the help of Vicky White, a corrections officer, who later took her own life.
Casey White was already serving a 75-year sentence for attempted murder and other charges before the escape.
In exchange for pleading guilty to escape, a murder charge against Casey White was dropped.
Vicky White died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as police closed in on the pair after an 11-day manhunt.
Casey White still faces a trial for capital murder in the 2015 death of Connie Ridgeway.
