Alabama Defensive Backs McKinstry, Arnold Declare for NFL Draft; Moore, Lawson to Return

Linebacker Chris Braswell also declares for NFL Draft, while Alabama's defense remains strong with returnees and new recruits.

  • Alabama defensive backs Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, while fellow defensive back Malachi Moore and linebacker Deontae Lawson have indicated that they will return for the 2024 season.
  • McKinstry and Arnold are expected to be first-round picks, with McKinstry being one of the best man coverage corners in the country this season and Arnold leading Alabama in interceptions and pass deflections.
  • Linebacker Chris Braswell has also declared for the NFL Draft, joining McKinstry, Arnold and offensive tackle JC Latham as Alabama players heading to the NFL.
  • Despite the departures, Alabama's defense remains strong with the return of Lawson, who finished second on the team in tackles, and Moore, who played a healthy 2023 season and was impactful with 52 tackles, five pass deflections and one interception.
  • Alabama's 2024 recruiting class includes three cornerbacks and former USC defensive back Domani Jackson has joined Alabama this offseason as a transfer.
