Nick Saban Cites 'Huge Issue' with Miscommunication as Contributing Factor

Alabama's center Seth McLaughlin, who struggled with errant snaps throughout the season, has entered the transfer portal after a loss to Michigan in the College Football Playoffs.
McLaughlin's snapping issues were particularly evident in the Rose Bowl, where his low snap on the final fourth-down play led to a failed attempt by quarterback Jalen Milroe to run up the middle.
McLaughlin started all 14 games in his fourth season with the Crimson Tide and has started 25 games over the past three seasons.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban revealed that a 'huge issue' contributing to the bad snaps was McLaughlin mistakenly thinking he heard Milroe clap to snap the ball several times during the game.
McLaughlin, who was on the Rimington Trophy watch list before the start of the season (the award for best center in the nation), is reportedly set to visit Ohio State over the weekend.
