Al Michaels Excluded from NBC's NFL Playoff Coverage

Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth to Call Majority of Games, Michaels to Return to Amazon Prime in 2024

Al Michaels, the legendary sports broadcaster, will not be calling this year's NFL Playoffs for NBC Sports, marking the first time since NBC returned to televising the league in 2006.
Michaels, who has been criticized over his lack of enthusiasm during broadcasts, has spent the last two seasons as the voice of Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” games.
NBC's primary announcing team, Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth, will handle three of NBC's playoff games, while the fourth game will be covered by Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge.
Michaels was reportedly caught off guard by the decision, as he believed he was still going to call the game on NBC.
Despite the criticism and this recent decision, Michaels plans to return for the final year of his deal with Amazon Prime in 2024.
