Network to Refer Case to International Criminal Court as Journalist Deaths in Conflict Rise

• Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abudaqa was killed in an Israeli drone strike on a school in Khan Younis, Gaza.
• Abudaqa's colleague, Wael Al-Dahdouh, was injured in the same attack but survived.
• Al Jazeera has announced it will refer Abudaqa's killing to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
• Abudaqa is the 13th Al Jazeera journalist to die on duty since the network was created in 1996.
• The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reports that at least 64 journalists have been killed since the Israel-Gaza conflict began on October 7.
