Al Falah University Denies Institutional Link in Terror Probe Involving Arrested Doctors

The medical regulator says any action will follow investigators’ findings.

Overview

  • Investigators have arrested Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Sayeed, both associated with Al Falah, in a case tied to a car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed at least eight people.
  • Police report recovering about 2,900 kg of explosives and inflammable material from two rented rooms linked to a suspect, which were located outside the university campus.
  • Al Falah’s vice chancellor says the institution’s connection to the accused is strictly professional, asserts no such chemicals are stored on campus, and states the university is cooperating with authorities.
  • Security teams have questioned more than 50 people linked to the college, and a faculty room attributed to Ganaie has become central to inquiries into ammonium nitrate logistics and transport routes.
  • The NMC is tracking the probe and has not contacted the college, while NAAC says the university’s accreditation claims are outdated and will write to the institution and the UGC to seek corrections.
