Overview
- Akasa Air has signed an agreement with Adani Airport Holdings to begin operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport by the end of August 2025
- The airline will start with over 100 weekly domestic departures and scale up to more than 300 domestic and 50 international weekly flights in its winter schedule
- No other carrier will base a larger share of its fleet at NMIA than Akasa Air, reinforcing the dual-airport strategy for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region
- NMIA’s initial phase is designed for 20 million passengers and 0.5 million metric tonnes of cargo annually, with future expansions targeting 90 million passengers and 3.2 million tonnes
- As part of its network growth, Akasa Air plans to establish up to 10 parking bases by FY2027 and launch routes to key Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets
