- Ajay Singhal, a 1992-batch IPS officer, formally assumed charge as Haryana DGP on January 1 in Panchkula with a minimum two-year term.
- Upon taking office, he announced a forthcoming night-time assistance program called ‘Madadgar Police’ and pledged tougher action on cybercrime, narcotics and extortion.
