AISSEE 2026 Adds Three Sainik Schools as Registration Closes Oct. 30

A January test is scheduled, with the 67% state quota subject to a Madras High Court appeal.

Overview

  • The Sainik School Society formally added Sri SPK Public Senior Secondary School (Namakkal, Tamil Nadu) and Vadem Nagar Higher Secondary School (Vasco, Goa) as residential campuses, and Yogeshwari Sainik School, Ambajogai (Beed, Maharashtra) as a day-boarding campus.
  • Registration ends on October 30 and fee payment closes on October 31, with an application correction window from November 2 to 4 and results to be declared within about six weeks after the January exam.
  • Admissions to approved New Sainik Schools will use two routes: 40% of seats via the All-India AISSEE merit list (Category A) and 60% via school-wise lists for students already enrolled in approved New Sainik Schools (Category B).
  • The AISSEE paper is set for 300 marks over 150 minutes for Class 6 and 400 marks over 180 minutes for Class 9, with minimum qualifying scores of 25% in each section and 40% overall.
  • Seat allocation currently specifies 67% for candidates from the host State/UT and 33% for other States/UTs, a formula noted as contingent on an appeal pending before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.
