Aisa Group Pledges All Legal Recoveries to Solar Projects to Fund $500 Million in Public Works

A recent Mendoza court ruling ratifying a $16 million arbitral award prompted the company to link recoveries to photovoltaic investments whose returns would be donated via a new foundation.

Overview

  • Juan José Retamero said 100% of funds recovered from multiple judicial disputes will be invested in one or more photovoltaic parks already under development.
  • The yields from those solar assets would be directed annually to public-works and social programs in Argentina through an Aisa Group foundation over roughly three decades.
  • The pledge follows the Tercera Cámara de Mendoza’s decision ratifying an arbitral award that orders Marcelo Bocardo, Jugos Australes S.A. and Eco Green International LLC to pay about $16 million.
  • The commitment extends to other pending cases involving Fraccionadora San Juan, Antonio González S.A. (Bodegas Galán) and Fecovita, with any donations contingent on successful recoveries and project execution.
  • Separately, Aisa is advancing the $665 million Gualcamayo project and pursuing RIGI admission, as FIX SCR assigned Minas Argentinas S.A. an A+(arg) rating with a stable outlook.
